How long does a composite door installation take?
A composite door installation typically takes between 2 and 4 hours. Our team will remove your existing door, fit the new frame and door, ensure it is level and secure, and leave your home clean and tidy. Most installations are completed in a single visit.
Are composite doors more secure than uPVC doors?
Yes. Composite doors are generally more secure than standard uPVC doors. They feature a solid timber or foam core, making them much harder to break through. Our composite doors are available with PAS24 security certification, multi-point locking systems, and anti-snap, anti-pick, anti-drill cylinders as standard.
Do composite doors need planning permission in the UK?
In most cases, no. Replacing a front or back door with a composite door is considered permitted development and does not require planning permission. However, if your property is in a conservation area or is a listed building, you may need to seek approval. We advise all customers to check with their local authority if they are unsure.
What composite door colours are available?
We offer composite doors in a wide range of colours including Anthracite Grey, Black, White, Chartwell Green, Cream, Red, Blue, and many more. Most of our doors can also be specified with different colours on the inside and outside, giving you full flexibility to match your home's interior and exterior.
Do you offer finance for composite doors?
Yes. A2Z Windows and Doors offers flexible finance options through Klarna, allowing you to spread the cost of your new composite door. Finance is available subject to status. Visit our finance page or ask our team for details during your free survey.
How long do composite doors last?
A well-maintained composite door can last 30 years or more. Unlike timber doors, composite doors do not warp, rot, or fade significantly over time. They require minimal maintenance — an occasional wipe down with a damp cloth is usually all that is needed. All our composite doors come with a 10-year guarantee.
