What Does Assure Certification Mean for You?

In the UK, replacing windows and doors is notifiable work under Building Regulations. This means every installation must either be inspected and approved by your local authority, or carried out by a Competent Person Scheme registered installer who self-certifies the work.

As an Assure registered installer, A2Z Windows & Doors can self-certify every installation. This means:

  • No need to apply for Building Regulations approval
  • No council inspection visits to your home
  • You receive an official Assure certificate for every job
  • Your installation is automatically compliant with Part L (energy) and Part Q (security)
  • Your certificate is recognised by solicitors, mortgage lenders, and insurers

📄 Official Certificate Issued

You receive a certificate of compliance for every installation — essential for your property records and when you come to sell your home.

🏠 No Council Involvement Needed

We handle all compliance on your behalf. No forms, no fees, no waiting for a council inspector to visit your home.

🔒 Security Compliance

Assure certification covers Part Q compliance — ensuring your new doors and windows meet the required security standards to resist forced entry.

☀️ Energy Efficiency Compliance

Every installation is certified as meeting Part L — the energy efficiency requirements for replacement windows and doors in England.

💼 Recognised Nationwide

Assure certificates are accepted by all UK solicitors, mortgage lenders, and home insurers as proof of compliant installation.

✅ Fully Vetted & Assessed

Assure registered companies are regularly audited and assessed. Our certification is independently verified — giving you genuine peace of mind.

Building Regulations We Comply With

Part L — Energy Efficiency

All replacement windows and doors must meet minimum U-value requirements. Our products achieve 1.2 W/m²K or better — exceeding the 1.6 W/m²K requirement.

Part Q — Security

Doors and windows in new dwellings and extensions must resist physical attack. Our PAS 24-tested products meet Part Q automatically.

Part N — Glazing Safety

All critical glazing locations use toughened or laminated safety glass in accordance with Part N requirements.

Part F — Ventilation

Replacement windows include appropriate trickle ventilation where required to maintain adequate airflow in compliance with Part F.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Assure the same as FENSA?

Assure and FENSA are both Government-authorised Competent Person Schemes for window and door installers. Both provide equivalent certificates that are equally recognised by solicitors, insurers, and mortgage lenders. A2Z Windows & Doors is registered with Assure.

How do I verify A2Z is Assure registered?

You can verify our registration at any time on the official Assure website. Our registration number is available on request — simply contact us and we’ll provide full details.

What if I’ve had windows or doors fitted without a certificate?

If a previous installer did not provide a compliance certificate, you may need to obtain a Local Authority Regularisation Certificate. Contact your local council’s Building Control department. For all future work with A2Z, you will always receive your certificate.

Do I need a certificate to sell my house?

Yes. Your solicitor will ask for evidence that replacement windows and doors comply with Building Regulations. The Assure certificate we provide is the document you need.
